Design and Joinery
Built in my Toronto workshop, each organizer is assembled with traditional hot hide glue and joined using high-shear solid wood dowels for long-term stability. Traditional mortise and tenon joinery is also available as an upgrade upon request.
Wood Options and Finish
Solid North American Ash: Bright, defined grain finished with hand-rubbed oil in eight hand-applied finishes: Natural Clear, Driftwood Grey, Antique Gold, Toasted Almond, Autumn Leaf, Deep Chestnut, Espresso Bean (Pictured in primary listing photos), and Carbon Black.
Solid Black Cherry: Rich, warm timber that deepens naturally over time with light exposure.
Materials and Bench Details
Heavy 5/4 Stock: Backplates and top shelf are milled to a substantial 1-inch finished thickness.
Traditional Surface Preparation: Surfaces, arches, and corbel supports are finished exclusively with hand planes and cabinet scrapers rather than sandpaper. Slicing the wood fibres cleanly honours traditional joinery techniques and keeps the natural grain vivid and undisturbed.
Natural Finishes: Protected with hand-rubbed plant oils and shellac to preserve the hand-planed surface without a plastic film.
Authentic Brass Fasteners: Hooks are secured with traditional slotted-head solid brass wood screws.Note: While earlier studio prototypes shown in some photos feature standard fasteners, all current builds include these traditional slotted brass screws for an authentic period finish.
Hook Styles and Hardware
Standard Cast Hooks: Includes classic Mackintosh, Greene, Wright, or Morris patterns. Please specify your preferred pattern in the order notes at checkout.
Premium Hardware Upgrade: Heavy Stickley-style Bungalow bronze hooks are available via the variant selection.
Dimensions and Mounting
Standard Dimensions: 31 inches long by 16.5 inches high with a 6-inch deep top shelf.
Custom Sizing: Available in custom lengths from 24 to 60 inches. Contact the workshop to request custom proportions for your wall space.
Mounting: Features a concealed rear mounting system for a flush, secure wall fit.

Lead Time: Handcrafted to order. Please allow 5 to 6 weeks for milling, joinery, and hand finishing prior to dispatch.
